>> there is a new deal and the mayor said she is grateful to the governor for lending the state officers to help her city, the c.h.p. is already helping the city of oakland with extra patrols but now they have agreed to extend the contract and give even more help. they patrolled two days a week and now they increase that four oakland asked for help when the contract with the sheriff ended over the weekend and the sheriff deputied were patrolling with oakland police and the two agencies could not agree on terms for a new contract. for example, one of the officers, the deputies, was shot in the foot while patrolling oakland and the two sides could not agree on who should pay for the health care and the workers' compensation. with the sheriff deputied gone, and with the oakland police department facing a shortage officers with violent crime rising police had to turn to c.h.p. the mayor's office has not said

for two more attorneys. authorities are looking for possible explosives and signs of where the bombs were made. >> we hear more stories of courage and survival from the attack. after 200 injured, 14 of those have undergone amputations including a dancer who lost her foot but not her will to dance again. the 32-year-old and her husband, adam days, an airman just back from afghanistan were watching the marathon near the finish line when the first bomb went off. i remember telling adam, my gosh, i'm alive and he said, i'm okay, i'm okay, are you okay, and i said i think we are okay and i could not believe it and i tried to move and i said my foot. my foot. something is wrong and he lifted my leg and we lost it. >> she lost her left foot. she worked as a ballroom dance

the former muslim leader ordered the killings of two people. tones for the california state bar are recommending that the initial lawyer be stripped of her license. she was success spended if two years in 2011. >> and bars could move closer to 4:00 a.m. last call at a state hearing which is sponsored by a san francisco democrat and lets cities and counties petition the state to move the current 2:00 a.m. closing time back two hours to 4:00 a.m. and says the move would boost tourism but critics warn it could increase drunk driving and crime around the bars. the legislation wrote only affect bars and restaurants, liquor store hours would not change. >> investors will want to see how tarnished is apple's shine releasing the latest quarterly earnings and most expect disappointing results. apple's high flying stock has

plunged from over $700 to $390. apple has not released any new products and sales are mediocre. the good news is that expectations are so low that apple could start to surprise wall street and begin the turn around. apple now is dealing with defective iphones. two chinese newspapers report that apple returned 8 mill -- eight million iphones to china. it is not cheer clear which models are affected but apple is not experiencing iphone short averages and they could cost the company $250 million. executives have admitted that the iphone is the most difficult device they have assembled. >> netflix starts positive with shares for the company surging

yesterday following the announcement they signed up two million new subscribers the first quarter closing up 11 points to $174.237 a share because of additional they say of new original programming including "house of cards" and "arrested development." the c.e.o. says that the company could one day have up to 20 original series streaming for customers. >> now don't want to spend time inside were whatting a movie because it is so gorgeous. >> more comfortable today. >> cooler than year. a little. but still warmer-than-average temperatures. remember the breezes from yesterday? they are still gusting in the valleys. 23 in napa and 24 in fairfield but slowing in santa rosa and concord but it is keeping the temperatures warmer than yesterday. ten degrees if livermore to 20 at napa.

if you are headed out, 65 if livermore and napa and 64 in fairfield and antioch, and 66 in santa rosa, and mid-to-upper 50's for the rest of us and half moon bay is 46. temperatures today are mid-60's long the coast and upper 60's around san francisco and mid-70's to near 80 around the bay and low-to-mid 80's inland. the next three days we will continue the cooling trend with a bump up in temperatures headed into the weekend. >> at 6:10 we have metering lights on and you can see traffic is backing up a little bit but it is used to control the traffic flow out of oakland and into san francisco. no crabs out there and it has been quiet in the crash department this morning. we will see how it is affecting the maze so if it is becoming up near the toll it is not affecting westbound 80 from berkeley so you have a clear drive and it is slowing a little bit as you come up on 580 headed away from 580 to berkeley the

>> covering santa clara, san francisco, east bay and all the bay area, this is abc7 news. >> it is 6:13. outside right now from our exploritorium you can see the trance america building and the beginning of a beautiful day, not so hot as yesterday. in the develop news from tripoli new video shows an exploding car bomb outside a french embassy early this morning. that blast injured two french guards and it appears to be the first major terrorist attack on a diplomatic compound since the siege of the outpost in benghazi in september. that attack killed ambassador christopher stevens, a bay area native. from southern california, authorities are trying to figure out who hacked into flight

boards at los angeles international airport. hackers changed the boards at a determine natural ordering passengers to evacuates because of an emergency. there was no emergency and police are looking for the person behind the attack. >> the national transportation safety board opens a hearing today on how bad try problems in boeing's jetliners got past the regulators. problems with the battery led to the fleet grounding in january. investigators are looking how the cutting edge battery system was test asked want to know if government gives too much authority to aircraft makers for safety testing. >> a just-release survey shows parent may want to talk to teens about the dangers of prince drug abuse. a poll shows that 81 percent of teens say their parents have talked to them about the risks of marijuana and alcohol use but only 14 percent of teens say their parents is talked to them about the dangers of abusing prescription drugs.

the abuse is going up. one in four teens in the study have abused prescription drugs up 35 percent in five years. >> a bay area company is offering new rebates to save customers money and based in palo alto, the thermostat is a brain child of two former apple engineers and helps you conserve energy and is partnering with several energy companies to offer rebates to customers to adjust temperatures inside their home during peak energy times. they are partnering with southern cal edison and pg&e is not among the partner companies. as hot as it gets in the east bay i don't know how much conservation there will be. >> when it is up to 100 it is hard to talk us into turning east air conditioning for a up cough years.

trend. what we watched yesterday, we talked about the surge, first the wins coming up, cooling the coast and then the clouds and then the clouds will town and head into the bay and then inland thursday morning and that is why the thursday will be the coolest afternoon but until then, still of would average and low-to-mid 70's through the santa clara valley and well start around 80 and drop to 72 in pill bray and mid-60's along the coast and low 60's at deal city and struggling into the upper 60's in south san francisco after hitting the 80's yesterday and 68 in sausalito, and 78 in san rafael and petaluma and everyone else in the low to mid-80's. low-to-mid 60's at the beaches and wide-spread mid-to-upper 70's through the shoreline and castro valley possibly making it to the low 80's and low-to-mid 80's in the east bay valley so cooler and more comfortable than yesterday. as far as the game it is back to normal at at&t park with a

the coast is cloudy and the rest of us get a beautiful sunrise. how are the winds going to affect our temperatures? a light breeze around the bay at 54, milder this morning and mid-70's at lunch time and upper 70's and hitting the 80's and a few 90's yesterday and comfortable this evening at 66. in the valleys we have a now breezes and 56 this morning, and sunny and 76 at noon and mid-80's in the afternoon, so in record highs and more comfortable in the evening at 71 and check out the coast cloud cover, temperatures stuck in the 50's, we will spike into the low-to-mid 60's from noon to 2:00. >> we have this report involving a dump truck carrying gravel emptying gravel on the roadways as it exited so southbound 680 we do have some debris in lanes and that is causing a slow down. it is all over the place. watch out for that. in marin county we have fog that could affect your drive creeping
